HONOLULU, Hawaii --Aloha Rainbow Wahine fans!!!!

The 2011 Chevron Spring Fling Tournament presented many challenges to our Rainbow Wahine. It is imperative that at this time we must unite and form a solid foundation of support for our student-athletes and coaches as they continue to work towards success.

The Na Wahine Softball Booster Club would again like to express our "aloha" to all of our 65+ members to date as we continue to move ahead in support of the Rainbow Wahine Softball program. It should be noted that during the non-conference schedule, Rainbow Wahine pitchers junior Stephanie Ricketts and sophomore Kaia Parnaby enter the WAC season play with the best ERAs of any other starting pitchers representing other WAC softball programs.

Kaia Parnaby (8-2) leads all WAC pitchers with an astounding ERA of 1.20 and Stephanie Ricketts (13-7) is right behind her with an equally stunning ERA of 1.43. This week, the Rainbow Wahine (22-9) will begin their quest towards another WAC Championship as they host the Utah State Aggies!

The schedule for this week:
RAINBOW WAHINE vs Utah State at 6pm.

RAINBOW WAHINE vs Utah State at 4pm (doubleheader)

The following week, the Rainbow Wahine will return to the road as they face arch-rival Fresno State in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN-U. On Friday, April 1st, the first game of the Fresno State series will be aired on ESPN-U at 4pm Hawaii Time (7pm California Time).

Booster Club News:

We are approaching the $800.00 mark in total outright cash donations received during home softball games and we hope to reach $1,000.00 by the end of the regular season and we have 12 more games to go!!!

The Na Wahine Softball Booster Club again would like to thank the many fans that have continued to give what they can to the Rainbow Wahine Softball program, especially during these economic times. As usual with all outright donations, all funds go directly to the Rainbow Wahine Softball program in support of it's coaches and student-athletes.

Booster members that have signed up from January 31st to March 11th have been mailed out an order form for our exclusive "members only" Na Wahine Softball Booster Club polo shirts from Under Armour. Your purchase is strictly voluntary.

Thanks to the UH Rainbowtique, we are able to offer these shirts to members only at a discounted rate with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Rainbow Wahine Softball program.

This is our second "batch" of mailings and our first mailing proved to be successful as over 60% of boosters responded with orders, if you happen to be in that first batch and did not order a shirt but still have the order form and would like to order one at this time just mail the form in.

A new experience

Unknown to the team the Na Wahine Booster Club arranged for the UH Pep band to perform at the opening Na Wahine Game of the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament. It was a great experience for the players who were surprised when the band showed up.

Assistant Band Director Gwen Nakamura and the pep band had the place rocking. We received nothing but good feedback from the players, coaches, players families and all the fans. A big Mahalo to the Pep Band.
