HONOLULU, Hawaii --Aloha Rainbow Wahine fans!!!!

5-0... HAWAII 5 and 0!!! What a great start to the 2011 season!!!On behalf of the Rainbow Wahine softball program, it's student-athletes and coaches, the Na Wahine Softball Booster Club would like to thank all of the support we received over the course of the 2011 Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic softball tournament!!!

We received numerous inquiries with regards to membership and to date, we have just currently added 18 more NEW members to the Na Wahine Softball "ohana". To date, our membership is at 48 individuals and growing!

We also received numerous cash donations from various fans and supporters. All cash donations received over the weekend will go directly to the Na Wahine Softball Booster club in our continuous mission to help directly support Rainbow Wahine softball, it's coaches and student-athletes.

*Note*, for future reference, if those providing cash donations in the future wish to receive a receipt from the UH Foundation for a tax deduction, we can take down your full name and address on site and you will be mailed your receipt.

The Na Wahine Softball Booster Club will continue to accept cash donations and accept booster club memberships at every home game this season. We will be located at the main entrance of the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium and will be taking cash donations and applications in-between games, before games, and usually during the first 2-3 innings of each game.

It was a thrilling opening weekend for all Rainbow Wahine softball fans. Already the 2011 Rainbow Wahine softball team earned it's first championship defeating future Big West Conference foes UC Davis in the championship game of the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic. We also would like to continue to acknowledge the individual accolades of the Rainbow Wahine that made the 2011 Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic All-Tournament Team:

3rd Base- Melissa Gonzalez
Outfielder- Jasey Jensen
Outfielder- Alex Aguirre
Designated player- Jenna Rodriguez
Most Valuable Pitcher- Stephanie Ricketts
Most Valuable Player- Kelly Majam

Speaking of individual accolades, while the Rainbow Wahine have made a name for themselves as an offensive juggernaut, it was the performance of their ace pitching-duo that really made their presence known this past weekend. Junior pitcher Stephanie Ricketts won the WAC Pitcher of the Week honor for her performance this past weekend. In three games, Stephanie Ricketts struck out 25 batters and finished with a dominating ERA of 0.37. Her teammate and the other half of the Rainbow Wahine's "double-threat" pitching duo, sophomore Kaia Parnaby struck out 14 batters and amassed an astounding ERA of 0.54.

Also coming from Layton, Utah was Jasey Jensen's mom and dad, Suzi and Kevin Jensen

Coming over from the island of Lihu'e, Kaua'i was Jori Jasper's mom and dad Richard and Therese Jasper along with brother Jett Jasper who is a wide receiver for the UH Warriors
